Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: intel

I would like the up arrow to be on top of the vertical scroll bar and the down arrow to be at the bottom. How can I change the position of those arrows. THANKS!

You use Help>Send Feedback to ask Microsoft to change it for you in the next
version. (In other words, you can't).

They recently changed to this layout from the previous layout because users
wanted the two arrows closer together...

Not an application issue - it's set by the OS.

Go to Apple Menu> System Preferences> Appearance & choose the option for
Place Scroll Arrows: At Top & Bottom. Note that this will affect sceoll
arrow position in all programs, not just Word.

Anyone:

Does the two-arrows-at-top-plus-two-arrows-at-bottom feature that Onyx will
enable work correctly in Word 2008? That might satisfy the OP plus anyone
else watching. Can't check it myself because I don't yet have Word 2008.

Well, I never! I never thought to look there :)

That's one I don't think they have on the dark side :)

Cheers

Don't tell me you two are not even tempted to check out the
two-arrows-at-both-ends feature via Onyx? Just as well -- it's one of those
things that you end up wondering how you did without, and I wouldn't want to
pull you presumptuously out of the Dark Pool of Unawareness on this.

John? Bob?

You aren't there for me, are you? :-\

So be it. I only give away things like that every two years...

Um, I forgot that System prefs setting too.

Hello Clive - we're here, we're just ignoring you;-)

Actually, I've neglected to keep updated with Onyx on my G5 - which is a bit
on the fritz right now, so I have been reluctant to introduce anything new
under 10.4.11 - and I just haven't had the need to make the time to put it
on my MBP as yet... It lost its luster once the crons got rerouted as I
never really used it for other purposes.

We don't DO haxies here, you Philistine, you!! (Even if they are offered by
Apple...)

Anyway, the version on offer now is 10.5 only... :)

You'll have to note you can only set that by appearance in system
preferences in X.4 X. 3 and bellow you need onyx to set it.

Oynx is not a Haxie. Its a systems utility similar to disk Utility but
with other UNIX features added. a lot of them are just a Graphical
interface for UNIX commands hiding the dangerous ones from you so you
can't royally screw up your system.

And in any event you need Onyx if you want to have *two* arrows at both top
and bottom (unless that has been introduced in OS 10.5, which I haven't yet
moved to).
