In XL2007, we have a shared workbook on the network. Several of the
users go into the field with laptops, so they open the file, then
disconnect the network cable, close the lid and leave. The workbook's
user list still shows them connected. Then when they return, they
plug back in and open the file again - which adds them again as a
separate user. I've seen the same user logged in on three different
days!
What's the best way to manage a situation like this? Should they open
the file and Save As to their laptop? If so, then what's the best way
to reconcile the data without too many problems?
