Repost: In-Cell Dropdowns

Is there a work-around to the lack of a support for In-
Cell dropdowns in OWC11/OWC10??

Or am I missing something in the development enviroment
that would allow in-cell dropdowns to be accomplished
and/or emulated??

This problem has totally stalled a major web project and
could be a show stopper!

I CANNOT believe such an essential feature of Excel is not
included in Microsoft's web components!!?

I don't know of a work around. Controls cannot be embedded in excel. I've
had success with implementing the dropdown outside of the object. That is,
placing it on the webpage and writing code to sync the dropdown values
selected with the excel cells.

I agree it's not slick but a lack of being able to implement functionality a
certain way should definitely not be a show stopper.

Thanks for the reply.

While I was waiting for a response I essentially built an
interactive "tooltip" containing a combo box that aligns
and sync's with the activecell on the spreadsheet. Took a
bit of effort building in the default behaviour of an
Excel in-cell dropdown but it'll fool 99% of my users.
