Repost: New message opens behind Outlook

I have two users who are having this issue. WinXP sp2, Outlook 2003. One of
the computers recently had XP re-installed. Also tried updating the video
driver to no avail and we do not have Plaxo installed.

When they compose a new email, the window opens behind Outlook and they have
to minimize Outlook in order to access the new mail window. I've seen a few
posts describing similar issues and other focus problems but have found no
good solutions yet.

I tried using the TweakUI utility and that did not work either.

The users have similar PC clones that were built from components with the
only difference being the video cards.

Any more ideas?

Sure. Start in safe mode and see if it still happens. If it doesn't, dig
through the plug-ins and figure out which one is a problem. If it does, try
disabling Word as the email editor and see what happens. If it still does,
make sure you do a detect and repair of Outlook too.
