repost: "When posting to this folder, use: IPM.Appointme"

This is a repost of my earlier question, hope someone can help.

I am using Outlook 2003 in my office. It has a custom form to allow us to
book a room. When I click on new appointment, by default, that custom form
will be used. After I click on Help> Detect and Repair, I don't have that
form as default and everything I created is using the default IPM.Appointment
type. The problem is when I get the invite from others, Outlook is storing
the appointment using the custom form. In order to sync with the iPhone, I
want it to be stored in the default IPM.Appointment message class so that
iTunes can pick it up.

So, I set the "When posting to this folder, use:" option to IPM.Appointment.
I thought that will converted them back to the default IPM.Appointment, but
it does not. Outlook is still storing them using the custom message class.
In addition, I notice that for those appointments I created, even I am not
using the custom form and it is stored in my Outlook as IPM.Appointment, the
recipients are storing them as the custom message class. I check their
option, they also have this "When posting to this folder" option set to
IPM.Appointment.

Is this a bug or I misunderstand the meaning of this option? Is there any
way to change the message class automatically when I got the invite. I know
there is a utility macro to change it, but I don't want to run that everytime
when I sync the iPhone.

Thank you very much in advance.
