representation of project interdependencies at programme level

Hi there

I read somewhere that with MS Project you could graphically represent
project interdependencies at programme level and I cannot find the article
any longer

Any ideas, please?

Many thanks,

Hello Ilaria,

As Dave noted in his reply to your previous message, you can create a
consolidated (or master) project by combining multiple projects. If
you are using the same resources across the projects, you will want to
create a resource "pool" file to hold the resource information and
then connect the project files containing the tasks to the pool file.
See help in Project on resource pool files.

If you use the "pools and sharer files" combination, you can create a
consolidated master file through the pool. If tasks in one project
are dependent on tasks in another, you can link
(predecessor/successor) across the project files. Again, help in
Project does a very good job detailing this. Certainly if you have
further questions, let us know.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie

Thanks - yes i found some really good info to get the show on the road
One thing I could not find, is whether there is a view or report in MS
project to represent graphically project interdependencies at programme
level. Like a report, gantt chart or similar... thanks for any advise

Hello,

If you create the consolidated project and link between the projects,
the Gantt chart of the consolidated project will show the
predecessor/success relationships.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
