Reprogram Fn key to act like PC Ctrl Key

I've been using Excel and Word for Windows for years and have recently
become a proud Mac household (but still use PCs at the office) with a
MacBook Pro laptop.

Is there a way to reprogram my "Fn" key to act like a Windows "Cntrl"
key? (I'm used to control being in the lowest lefthand-most corner of
the keyboard.)

Further, can I make the "command" key act like a Windows "Alt" key?

I would like to be able to hold down "Alt" and press "f" and have the
file menu drop down, just like it does on a PC.

If the answer is "no," is it possible to do this in Excel with some
sort of Macro? Like a visual basic macro?

I don't use a mouse or touchpad much and really need my keyboard
shortcuts to be the same as a PC.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

(etc).

With due respect, I think JE McGimpsey and Bob Greenblatt answered this
last time you asked. However, you can change the built-in keyboard
commands to anything you want (within reason). Off the top of my head
I cannot remember exactly how, but "help" will help you (that's how I
found out how to change the commands).

No Offense, Lambert, but I'd think twice about doing so even if it can be
done. Make sure you are fully aware of what the Fn Key key is all about.

That key is an important (and often *necessary*) modifier key to use the
alternative assignments of the Function Keys. If you reassign it you may not
be able to use those alternatives. If you give it a little time you'll
probably be able to make the shift from one system to the other without even
realizing it - I & thousands of others do it every day.
