Request a status report bug?

N

Neil Bradley

Hi,

I've noticed that once you've set how often a status report due and sent the
request, it's not possible to change this setting. You can edit the setting,
but it's not saved. Am I missing something or is this a bug?

Thanks

I cannot confirm the behavior you describe with Status Reports in Project
Server 2003. Are you using Project Server 2002 by chance? After you edit
the recurrence settings for the Status Report, are you clicking the Next
button all the way through all of the pages and then clicking the Send
button on the last page? Let us know.

Dale,

No, I'm using Project Server 2003. I'm clicking the Next button all the way
through all of the pages and then clicking the Send button on the last page.

Here's how I recreate the behavior:

1. Set up a new status report with a weekly recurrence. Make it due every
Friday starting on 6/3. Send the request to team members. This works fine.
The status report is due on 6/10.

2. Edit the status report request. Change the recurrence to every other
week. Make it due every Friday starting on 6/3. Send the request to team
members. Now the status report is due on 6/3. It should be 6/17. Call this
bug 1.

3. Edit the status report request again. The recurrence change made in
step 2 is lost. It has reverted to the recurrence setting made in step 1.
Call this bug 2.

That's the scoop. A work around is to delete the original status report
request and create a new one. Not sure of the downstream impact, though,
especially on previously submitted status reports.

Thanks
