I have Vista Ultimate with SP1 and Outlook 2007 with a Digital Signature.
When trying to send the first e-mail message after starting out look I am
prompted with "Request for Permission to Use a Key." I press "Permission
Granted" and the message is sent. After that (for further e-mail messages),
answering that prompt is not required. KB 936029 reports this problem and
offers a solution - some additions to the registry. I have made those
additions and checked carefully for any typos but the fix doesn't work.
Here are my entries:
(Default) REG_SZ (value not set)
PrivateKeyLifetimeSeconds REG_DWORD 0x00278d00 (259200)
PrivKeyCacheMaxItems REG_DWORD 0x00000006 (6)
PrivKeyCachePurgeIntervalSeconds REG_DWORD 0x00278d00 (259200)
I think its a bit odd that the first DWORD uses "Private" whereas in the
other DWORDs that reference is abbreviated as "Priv" - but that what the KB
article says.
Any idea why this is not working? (How can I avoid having to grant
permission to use the key on he first e-mail message?)
Thanks.
