Request for proofing tool

B

Bill

I am running Windows XP and Office 2003, English language version.
I have one particular word document which when I request a spellcheck causes
a request for Dutch(Belgium) Proofing Tools which are not installed. I
presume there is some text in the document which is causing this. Any advice
on how to stop the request for the proofing tool would be appreaciated.
Thanks in anticipation :)

I presume there is some text in the document which is causing this.

The text is probably set as Dutch language (see Tools > Language). Depending
on the document you may or may not want that so I'm not sure how best to
advise. You can format text (or set a style) to not be checked but I don't
think you can suppress checking for a single language.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for the trouble.
I came to the same conclusion, but I don't know how to find the text that's
causing the problem. I created the document myself and ther is no pasted text
that I can remember, but obviously something has crept in! Anyway it's not
critical - just a little irritating
Once again thanks for the suggestions and help,

Cheers

You can always search for text in Dutch.

Ctrl+F to bring up the dialog
Click on More if need be
Click on Format
Select Language
Double click on Dutch (Belgium)
Click on Find NExt
and so on

Hi Tony,

Many thanks - just the answer I was looking for! I did it and found one word
that was in "Dutch" language, changed it and problem solved (although how it
happened in the first place - who knows!)

Once again many thanks for your help and time

Cheers,

Bill
