Requesting Help Changing Figure Captions

Help!!

I'm working on a reasonably long report (140+ pages) with about 60
figures. When I wrote the report, the old style manual said that FIG
was OK. Now the style manual says that Fig is the correct/preferred
way to do things.

I have not been able to find an easy way to change all the captions,
references and lists from FIG to Fig through out the document.

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chuck Cartledge

Make a backup copy of the document before trying anything.

While it might not do the job 100%, you might to try
Edit > Replace

There's a "More" button that reveals check boxes:
- Match case
- Find whole words only

It's possible for this approach to interact in unexpected ways with some
Word features, so be careful.

(I have Word 2003.)
