Required Steps for upgrade to 2007...

A long time ago... when Office Groove 2007 Beta was being released.. we were
told that you needed to use a Migrator tool... If you search on microsoft,
you can still find it.. but to my knowledge, it is unknown if you are a 3.1
user.. whether or not this step is still needed..

I know that Groove recently released an update XXXX.2390... Quick question
is... did that include the migrator once MSFT finished Groove 2007?

Also, I am interested in using the Groove Live for Small Business, but where
do you sign-up for that? I know life must be hectic at MSFT right now, but we
shouldn't have to search to find a way to buy...

If you are installing the commercial release of Groove 2007 the migration
tool is bundled in the software and is automatically managed. I have been
upgrading close to a 100 accounts and the software manages the whole
process.

Thank you for your reply... For my 100% sanity, as we are running a very few
number of accounts the risk for data loss (while minimal) is exponentially
higher when you have a smaller number of accounts as opposed to more.....
When a user has Groove 3.1 Professional installed (on one or more computers),
the upgrade process to upgrade to the recently released commercial version
(non-beta) Office Groove 2007 has the migration tool integrated.. that is to
say that nothing needs to be done on the users computer except to run the
upgrade software and then re-login ?

have you had any issues upgrading Groove with a user that has two machines
with the same user?

Unrelated, but I suppose still relevant, I am interested in using Groove
Live (instead of $230 for one time fee, my office prefers to do $80/ user /
year inclusive of upgrades)... does anyone know where to purchase this? I
have seen the pricing.. but the actual way to kick this off seem elusive...
as it requires the management of licenses with re-occurring annual fees...

thank you..

the only issue I have had and I will prefice this saying that we are still
using office 2003 and only installing Groove 2007. Is that when we go to use
outlook and click send/receive you get a popup which installs some more
files for Groove. At the end of the process it requries you to reboot. Thats
fine but on a couple of computers this happens continuously.

I find that once I have done the upgrade to 2007 and before rebooting the
computer I open outlook and click send/receive and then when it asks to
reboot I click no. I then launch Groove 2007 and it usally comes and and
says that the system will need to reboot before it can load. I then click
"finish" and reboot. when I do this I don't get the issue with outlook
triggering the install and reboot of groove files. I don't know what it does
when I follow this process, all I know I don't get the reboot popup
constantly coming up.
