Requirements for Office 98 and 2001 for MAC

I have an iMac System 9.0.4 and want to purchase an older
version of Office for MAC. What are the system requirements
to install and run Office 98 and Office 2001 for MAC?
My other option is to upgrade to OS X and purchase Office
2004 for MAC.
Any information and direction anyone can provide will be
appreciated.
I am not certain if my iMac can be upgraded to OS X. I will
need to purchase and install additional memory to do that
and have not done that on a Mac, yet.
