Reschedule uncompleted work

Hi,
i'd like to use the 'Reschedule uncompleted work' function without shifting
finish dates, but task constraints (e.g. FNLT) as well as task types (Fixed
Duration) seem to be ignored.

Thanks for any hints how to achieve this automatically

Hi,

To my personal discontent, since the 2002 version Rescheduel Work DOES take
constraints into account - it refuses to work on tasks with constraints.
You could insert a task type column, auto-filter for tasks that are not
fixed duration, and use rescheduled work for selected tasks.
But I really don't know what is the relevance of leaving planned work
planned and not actual when it is scheduled in the past.

How could you possibly reschedule uncompleted work and NOT alter the planned
finish dates? I was supposed to do some work last Monday that was supposed
to be finished that day at 5pm. I played hooky the last few days and didn't
do the work. How can I possibly reschedule it so I'll work on it NEXT
Monday and still leave its projected finish date as LAST Monday?

Do NOT use FNLT constraints to express deadlines. There's a deadline field
to use to set completion requirements and it does not interfere with seeing
the real consequences of your scheduling decisions nor prevent the
reschedule work tools to work as they're supposed to.

You should use Project crashing or Fast-track methods if you want to meet
the orginal dead lines.
Hope this helps.
