Rescheduling incomplete work

If you created a project with tasks that for whatever reason have not
started yet, should you use the Update Project > reschedule project tasks
function to get these back on track?

I ask because it seems counter intuitive to the "leveling" process. There
should almost be a way to automatically level incomplete tasks based on
current timing (move them forward to occur after the current date). Auto
leveling does not seem to have this ability.

As a part of your process of updating project progress from PWA into the
Microsoft Project plan, I would strongly recommend that you manually
reschedule uncompleted work in past reporting periods, and move the
uncompleted work to the current reporting period. Be aware that this can
cause one or more overallocations, which you would need to level. There is
no way to combine these two actions into a single action, so you will need
to do each of them individually. Hope this helps.
