Rescheduling Remaining Work

I routinely experience a problem where it appears that remaining work does
not get rescheduled when I update a project. i.e. the resource usage view
shows incomplete work in the past.

Am I missing something here? Is there a way to force this incomplete work
forward?

The process I use right now is
1. Reset the status date
2. Tools, Tracking, Update Project, reschedule uncompleted tasks from "this
date"

I am also using a shared resource calendar.

Hi Steve,

Sure there is no actual work involved? Is it really remaining work?
Is this the whole of your process? No leveling after the update?
Do you reschedule for the whole project or selected tasks?
Do the tasks involved have constraints other than those generated by a
previous reschedule work?
Don't you have the option to not allow tasks to be split?

Hi Jan

I'm not sure what exactly you mean by your first comment. I am looking at
the resource usage view showing "Work" filtered to show Work Incomplete. My
assumption is that this would show all work remaining, rescheduled from the
status date.

We do not use levelling and I am updating the entire project.

As mentioned my expectation is that all incomplete work would reschedule
forward from my status date.

What exactly do you mean by "I am updating the whole project"?
Is this through Tools, Update Project, Reschedule...?
