Research and Reference in Microsoft Office 2003

When I use the Research and Reference in Microsoft Office 2003 I get an error
message and Word needs to close and restart. This started a few months ago.
From the time I first installed Office 2003 I often used the "Look Up" option
for the thesaurus, dictionary and other reference resources and would like to
find a way to correct the error and use these functions again. Please help.

The usual causes of Word closing when you try to do something are:

1. Misbehaving add-in.

2. Corrupted Normal.dot.

3. Corrupted registry entry (usually the Data key).

Does the issue continue to occur if you start Word in Safe Mode? Hold the
Ctrl key while starting Word and continue holding it until you're prompted
to start in Safe Mode.

If it continues to occur in Safe Mode then what operating system are you
using and what is your virus scanner?
