Research problem

I cannot use the task pane in my Word 2007 anymore!!
When I use Alt+click or the buttons in Review\Proofing, All I have is
serveral sencond's freeze and then nothing happens. There is no error or any
indication.
The issue probably started when I installed an office update or some other
program. I tried reinstall office and SP1, but it's not helping. The panel
works fine in Powerpoint and Excel. I was sometimes able to use the panel
when the problem started, but I never succeed after SP1 was installed.

My office version is 12.0.6212.1000 (MSO12.0.6213.1000). OS: XP
SP2(5.1.2600.2180) Office Diagonostics pass with no problem.

Does research work if you start Word in safe mode? If so, then it might be
that registry (or other) corruption is causing the problem (the usual
solution being to try deleting the Data key in the registry and/or to rename
Normal.dotm).

I found several problems after applying SP1. However, research still seems
to work fine.
