Resend subject line is blank.

Hey all. I posted this in the General area, but got no responses..!! I'm
hoping that maybe this board will be a better place to post?!? Thanks!

I'm running Outlook 2003 at work and just recently got a new computer, so it
wasn't surprising when my personal settings had been turned back to the
default. But I see now that when I re-send a message (I use this function a
lot), the subject field of the new message is blank. I guess I shouldn't bet
my life on it, but I had really thougth that previously, when I resent a
message, the subject line was intact on the new message and I didn't have to
retype it each and every time I Resend. I coudln't find a setting that
corresponded to this in the "options", though.

Am I delusional about the subject line remaining the same as the original
when resending??

Thanks!

when you use the resend action on a previously sent item the subject line
should be the same as the original subject. It's not an option you can turn
off and on.

What steps are you doing to resend?

Hi Diane!

To resend, I click Actions >> Resend this message.

I did just make a connection now that I hadn't paid attention to when I
first posted. I have two mailboxes in my Outlook that I send email from, ie,
a User that is my own email that uses my name, and another User that I
monitor for the department that is a general email address
([email protected]). Whenever I re-send from the general address, I get a
message saying "You don't appear to be the original sender, are you sure you
want to resend it?" When I click Yes, the subject line goes blank. It seems
that when resending from a box that isn't "mine", this happens as when I
resend from my name, the subject line comes up okay.

BUT I am *positive* that this did not happen when I was on my previous
computer. I see all the emails (um, I keep everything) that I sent from the
general mailbox prior to my company switching me to my new computer do have
the Subject line in tact. I am positive that I would have noticed 8 months
ago if I'd had to re-write the subject line each time I resend (I do LOTS of
resending messages...)

Help!?!?
Thanks!

That's odd - I get the same error occasionally when I resend and don't
recall losing the subject line either. Are these pop/imap accounts or
exchange mailboxes?
