reset back to M-F working days

K

Ken

At one point I opened up the working days to a full 7-day week. Now I need
to reset the working days back to 5-day week. In MS P 2003, I have done the
Tasks --> Define Gen'l project working hours at 8 per day, but some tasks
still show Saturday, Sunday working times. How do I reset the schedule and
remove references to Sat / Sunday work hours?

Hi Ken,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I don't follow your request fully. How did you "opened up the working days
to a full 7-day week"? Did you create a new calendar or amend the standard
calendar? Have you tried resetting Project/Project Information... and
selecting the Standard Calendar? I don't recognise your procedure to:
"Tasks --> Define Gen'l project working hours at 8 per day" - how did you do
that?

You could try Tools/Organizer.../Calendars tab and copy the Standard
calendar on the left in Global.mpt to your project on the right. Then
reselect the Standard calendar in Project Information.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Mike,
Thanks for the reply.
By opened up I mean I changed the working days from 5 to 7 by amending the
standard calendar. Yes, I have tried resetting Project information to
standard calendar. The procedure mentioned is done with a project open, see
Tasks, then click on Define Gen'l project working hours --the wizard then
guides your options thru 5 steps to set the working hours.

I used this process to confirm working hours as M-F only....but Sat and Sun
still show in my tasks and active days for work.

Hi,

Better turn back to the old and well-proven method
Tools, Change working time, select S-S, "Use default".
The define general working hours through the tasks pane is very poor and
completely iseless.

Thanks for your explanation, Ken. As I never use the Tasks I was unfamiliar
with the terminology! Did you try re-loading the Standard Calendar from the
Organizer?
