Reset or Delete Managed Time Periods

Geoffrey

Is there a way to remove existing defined managed time periods. We turned on
this functionality previously and then moved to non-managed periods. We
would like to re-implement managed periods, but would like to avoid users
having to go back and re-enter information for previous periods.

We currently have listing from late 2004 in the periods list and would like
to start fresh. Thanks.

If you do not have SP1 installed for Project Server 2003 then I would not
recommend using Managed Time Periods.

Assuming you have SP1 I would say that you could switch back to Manage Time
Periods. By turning on Managed Time Periods and defining the periods, you
will not be losing any actuals in PWA. But you will probably start seeing
messages on the resources timesheets stating that they have not submitted
time for previous periods. There is always a workaround for this kind of
thing but might require some planning and some manual work on someone's part
to get these time periods re-submitted with the same actuals that are
already out there just to get rid of these messages.

Jonathan,

What's your workaround for clearing the 'xx unsubmitted timesheets' during a
date rnage that is no longer valid...like 2 months ago, without having the
team member go and log time for that time period?

Sara,

Sorry I haven't responded quicker. It looks like C. Smith has found a
hotfix for this issue. In reading it, I am not sure if it fixes the exact
issue we are talking about. Do you have a test environment in which you
could implement this hotfix and test out the results? I have a virtual
machine that I might try it on to see how it works when I have some time.

Hi Jonathan,

I have a test environment that I'm going to test this on.

Will update the group.
