Reset text styles

Melissa

I marked some tasks using the column "Marked".
I then formatted the text styles for all Marked items to Red Bold.
I have now decided I don't want Marked items to be formatted differently
from unmarked items. How do I do this?

I assume your suggestion is to specify the Font, Font Style, Size and Colour
for "Marked Items" in Format > Text Styles menu, e.g. choose Arial + Regular
+ 10 + Black/Automatic.
However, this doesn't give me the result I want as even Summary Tasks which
I have Marked would be Regular instead of Bold.
Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Thanks for your suggestion. It is quite a complicated way to just reset the
formatting to the original/default one. I hope there is a simpler way to do
so...

Hello Melissa,

When you "marked" a summary task to "yes", it became not bold. The
"marking" style over rides the Summary style which is bold. Set the
summary task to "no" and the bold format should reappear.

The removal of the bold was not due to the changes you made in the
formatting, it was the marking itself.

Consider using a Flag field to mark tasks for purposes that will not
change text formatting.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thanks very much Julie - that was very helpful and very clear for me.
My original intention was to highlight marked items in a different colour
which was why I used the Marked column. I don't need the colour
differentiating anymore but still want the column.
So, looks like I have to live with unbold, marked, summary tasks :)

Hello Melissa,

You're most welcome and thanks for the feedback. If your reason was
to use highlight filters, you can use one of the Flag fields or
another custom field for that purpose. Then create a custom filter
using the Flag field as the criteria field. You may then apply a
highlight filter using the custom field.
