Resetting page layout default

On page layout, I changed the borders, then changed my
mind, and hit default - now every page, even new ones are
set in the wrong default. How do I undo or change my
default. I have tried to change all tabs, margins, back
to what they were before this happened, but get a warning
message saying "Increasing right margin causes last
column to become too narrow in some sections having
unevenly spaced columns." Okay? If I hit okay, it
doesn't change anything. I have already tried
reinstalling my software, but it didn't change the
defaults back. Any advice? Thanks.

What are you default settings? Make sure these are
usually 2.54 cm all the way around.

No, they're not, actually. The default top and bottom margins are 1" (2.54
cm), but the left and right margins are 1.25" (3.175 cm).
