Resize Database Entities in a reverse engineered database diagram

R Benak

I need to resize the table and relationship objects in a Visio 2003 diagram
that is the result of reverse engineering a SQL database.

I removed the protection properties for these objects which enabled the
sizing handles. However, any attempts to resize the objects are simply
ignored.

I checked the layer properties and the Lock attribute is not set.

I am coming up short searching on this topic.

thanks in advance for any help.

I think this is one of the shapes that really should not be modified which is
why it protected so that it functions properly with the solution. Notice if
you removed all the check boxes from the protected fields you still cannot
change the width and height of the shape. However if you are running Visio in
developer mode and can access the shapesheet, you can remove guard from the
height and width sections in junction with removing the checks from protected
fields. This should allow you to resize the entity by selecting the handles
however you may receive unexpected results.

Unfortunately, this answer isn't much of a help for anyone frustrated by the
fact that you can't extend the height of the table to see all the columns
that have been defined....
