How do you resize it to show more rows without stretching the contents like a picture.

Hello Dan -

For future reference always state what version of the programs you're using
as well as which flavor of OS X. Nobody can be sure what they're dealing
with if you don't tell them & different combinations respond in different
ways - so solutions can vary. You also provided no detail on what -
specifically - you're doing or how you're doing it so this is just a guess.

I'm assuming you're trying to use Insert> Object - Microsoft Excel Sheet. If
so, it only renders 5 columns by 10 rows (regardless of whether you're using
2004 or 2008). This is a shortcoming in the OLE implementation which we have
been complaining about for years & has yet to be corrected... There's
nothing you can do to change the behavior. Use one of the following
processes instead:

Actually create your spreadsheet using Excel, Then either;

A) Use Word's Insert> Object> From File method, or

B) Copy the worksheet data then use Edit> Paste Special - (take your choice)

You might consider using Help> Send Feedback to make your requirement known
to MS - the more arguments that pile up in the database to better the chance
of getting it righted:)
