Resizing graphics in themes (banners, link bars, etc)

Greetings! Someone helped me figure out how to change the font in themes,
but I still can't figure out how to make the banner graphic and link bars
themselves wider. I want the banner to extend the width of the page and see
no option to stretch it. Any advice?

You can't stretch it.

You can change it (maybe...with great care) by editing the original image
and then again saving as a new theme. Personally...it ain't worth the
hassle. You can ascertain the file name of the banner image when you are in
modify themes...if you're a newbie you maybe don't want to mess with this
yet.
