resizing graphics in word

Yesterday, I placed a graphic in Word 2003. I tried to resize it and it get
really big and the only way I can resize is to go to the picture format and
resize by percentage. I cannot resize by dragging the corner any longer. What
happened?

You inserted as, or converted to, Inline. The sizing corners are available
only if the graphic is floating. Go to Picture format and convert to any of
the floating formats.
