Resizing photographs

B

Birch Plain

Using PP Ver 2000 or 2003...
When I import a photograph which is larger than the size which the
projector will handle,
( My projector handles 1024 X 768 ) I am unable to resize them using the
"Format picture" menu and "size" tab.

They seem OK when composing the presentation, but when I go to " Slide
Show" the pictures are too large.

Must one re-size the photos to the 1024 X 768 resolution, in a separate
graphics program, before using the images in PP ?

Thanks,

How PowerPoint determines the size of a picture that has been inserted is a
bit complicated. But...

When a blank slide template is shown on your screen, that is the exact
dimensions that will project. Anything that hangs off the sides of this
shadowed template image will not be displayed. If, after you insert a
picture, you resize it to fit onto the slide image, you will stop loosing
the edges. To resize an image, just click on it, then drag the corner
'handles' to change the size.

If you need more help on this, please post back.
