Resizing Table

M

Mandi Arvanitakis

I am using Word2002 SP3 and I have a table which I need to copy onto a
slightly smaller page. This table has merged cells. Is there a way of
converting the table to an object so you can resize without throwing all the
columns out of whack?

Hi Mandi,

How about using the table resizing handle (the little white square that
appears next to the bottom right corner whenever the cursor hovers over the
table itself)?
Just click on it and drag to resize the whole table in one shot!

Cheers!

Hi Mark,

No.

It is a new feature to Word 2002 (or 2000, can someone correct me on this?)

Cheers!

Assuming you no longer need to edit the contents:
- Copy
- Edit/Paste Special and choose to paste as a picture

Hi Mandi,
The only trouble with resizing my table this way is the text doesn't shrink
in proportion with the column/cell resizing -
There's an table CELL property OPTION named "Fit text" you can activate that
will reduce the size of text so that it fits the cell. That's probably the
closest you can manage...
