I have edited the master for the telecom shape from the electrical and
telecom stencil. I have resized and reformatted the master's text block so
that the text block will resize as text is entered, and the fill has a
distinct color. I formatted the text resize from the shape sheets by
entering a ratio formula (=GUARD(TEXTWIDTH(TheText)+0.25 in.) ) in the
TxtWidth cell of the Text Transform sheet.
I am now trying to fix a problem with the triangular telecom shape
resizing at a different ratio than the text box when using the resize
handles. I am using the MSPress book "Developing MS Visio Solutions" and am
trying to determine which sheets/cells will need new formulas to implement
equal resizing. There is a chapter devoted to text manipulation, but so far
none of the topics I have studied have had any impact on the problem. I like
the book, it's just not covering this particular instance.
Currently I am using a telecom object and a text box grouped to
represent data ports on our campus network. It works, but there are some
behavior issues I would like to eliminate. I think editing the telecom
master will provide an object with less complexity.
Thanks,
