Resolution problems

I need to convert some Publisher 2002 digital created
images to high resolution, Poster sixe (36"X48") prints.
My Publisher DPI is not high enough for such large
prints. Is it possible? What is the best way to go? This
is liomited edition stuff - so I need to keep the quality
high.

Publisher dpi?

DPI as a measure of resolution refers to a scan not to Publisher. If there
is a setting in Publsiher that will resample an image, (I don't recall ever
seeing one) turn it off. If you are seeing this in the print setup dialogs,
you can pretty much ignore it.
