Resolving editing conflict

I recently installed Groove 2007 for my lab group. We started by using
a File Sharing Workspace with several files. It appears that two users
edited a file (simultaneously perhaps?) and now one user keeps getting
multiple versions of the file showing up (User's Copy)(User's Copy).
What strategies are there for preventing this, and more importantly
how do we get this to stop for that particular file. I have found
Microsoft's information about conflict resolution rather inadequate.

Thanks in advance.

The problem you haver is that two users are working "simultaneously"on the
same file.
Example: two users are offline and edit the same file. One comes online
first then uploads the cahnges to the workspace.
Then the orther person comes only and Groove then sees that there where
changes in the time that he was offline.
No Groove creates a new document with the users name at the end of the file
name.

Sorry there is nothing that is in Groove that solves this.
You need to manualy edit the documents into one document.

I understand this and the cause of the problem, but I think the key to
the solution that I am missing is: "need to manually edit the
documents in one document". When I delete either of the current copies
to retain the other, the naming continues. If I rename one version
will this solve the problem?

Thanks.
