Resource already Checked out

Newbie

Hello,
I'm trying to add a new resource into the Project Server 2003 database.
I always get the message : "The Global Resource is already checked out by
another user. Try again or ask your administrator.."
- In the Check In page of PWA, there no checked out resource
- The Global Resource Pool is closed

Where is the problem ?

Thanks

You can check in Enterprise Resources from the Admin screens in PWA.

1. Go to Admin and click on "Manage enterprise features" on the left nav
then,
2. Click "Check in enterprise resources" at the top of the left nav.
3. Choose the checked out resource from the list and click "Check-In".

Hope this helps.

If the Resource Pool is closed, then how are you adding the resource? Also,
is it possible that you are attempting to add a resource that already exists
in the pool?

Hi,
I was trying to Import Resources to Entreprise:
Tools / Enterprise options / Import Resources to Entreprise

Hello Teresa,
Thanks for the hint, but there is not any resource in the checked out
resource list...

OK, that's a clue.

From where are you trying to import the resources? The more specific
information you can provide, the more likely we can help you.

It may be that you are trying to import a resource that is already in the
Enterprise Resource Pool.

I was having the same problem. I did not take notes... As I remember it I ...
1. Go to Admin and click on "Manage enterprise features" on the left nav then,
2. Click "Check in enterprise PROJECTS" at the top of the left nav.

I'm not sure what it was named, but there was a project there not in my
usual project list. It was something like "global" or "resource".

3. Choose the checked out "resource" from the list and click "Check-In".

Hello Everybody,

I tried again but didn't succeed:
- I'm able to change the resource name or the rate or anything else in the
Resource Global for any resource. Everything is OK for that. But...
- I'm not able to create nor to add a *new* resource:
. I tried to create the resource in the Enterprise Resource Pool
. I tried to import a resource via the Import Resource Wizard

The error message is :
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]the INSERT or UPDATE failed
because the target view specified WITH CHECK OPTION covered a view which
specified WITH CHECK OPTION, while one or several rows resulting from the
operation where not qualified under the constraint CHECK OPTION.

Very clear, isn't it ?
Thanks for clarifying !
