Resource Assign. / Timesheet summary discrepancy

The total number of hours updated (actual work) by resources differ between
the View resources assignments and View timesheet summary view in Resource
Center. The view in View resource assignment is Timesheet format and All
assignments. The same resource for the same time period in View timesheet
summary does not include all of the tasks viewed in View resource assignments
and the total Actual Work hrs are less.

Shouldn't the Actual Work totals be the same in both views?

After the PM accepts task updates from his/her team members, is he/she
publishing the project changes using Collaborate - Publish - All
Information? If he/she fails to do so, I believe this could account for the
discrepancy between the information on the two pages.

That is handled automatically during the Accept updates processes. I image
some PM's could somehow stop the process from completing but that would be
difficult to do.

However, on these views we are looking at actual work which by my
understanding is prior to Accept updates by the PM which then moves the time
to actual work protected. At least in the View resource assignments view the
'i" column shows an icon for udated hrs that have not yet been accepted by
the PM and still includes the hrs in the actual work totals for the resource.

What I'm really trying to solve here is to find a method to report to the
Resource Managers the hours that have been submitted as updates from the
project resources for the preceding week so they can follow up and get the
time updated before the time reporting period is closed.

Any suggestions on how to report current and accurate hrs updated from
resources would be helpful. The situation now is that as the Admin I export
the View timesheet summary (All timesheets) and send it out to the resources
managers for review. When they then go and review the View resource
assignments view and we see the discrepancy.

I am having a similar problem myself.

The problem seems to lie in the fact that I have set up a local
calender to allow for bank holidays etc and assigned this calender to
enterprise resources.

A resource has been assigned a 20 hour task to be completed over the
next 4 weeks (including the week that has the first bank holiday i.e.
non working time) When I view the weekly timesheet view for the next
four weeks for this resource I see three weeks with 5 hours and one
week (the one with the non working day) with 4 hours.

Any ideas?

Keith
