Hi Gurus,

I have this strange behavior with some resources in an enterprise project:

Using the Resource Usage view I clearly see I have Mary is assigned to Task
A. Mary is able to report task progress on task A in PWA (going to My Tasks
page and following the right procedure). Now here is the issue: The Project
Manager never receives Mary's task update; the strange part is that I see in
the Resource Usage view there are some hours in the Actual Work field...

This issue happens to only two resources. The vast majority is working just
fine

What is wrong?

TIA

Who created the project and tasks? My hunch is that the Status
Manager field is set to someone other than the current PM. Open the
project plan and insert the field "Status Manager" and see who it is
for those tasks. That is the person receiving the updates.

If this is set correctly, another possibility is that Mary isn't
properly submitting the task updates via "Submit Selected" in My Tasks.

Good call Jim!!

Now I have an additional question: how can I change the Status Manager for
the summary tasks?

Thanks again

Hi Mauricio,

No you cant, Summary tasks do not require a status manager because resources
never update summary tasks.
Hope this helps

As Marc mentioned, It is generally a best practice to not assign
resources to summary tasks, so if this is what is causing the issue,
then I suggest reassigning the resources to the subtasks.

Agree on the rationale for the best practice. My question was oriented to
determine if any performance issues were related to having this summary
tasks with a different Assignment Manager than the Project Manager.

No worries and thanks a lot!!!!
