Resource availability versus actual work

Hello, I want to show the capacity versus the actual work, so the manager
could easily see the company "on the bench" time.
I used the portfolio analyzer, and create 2 curve using the "Availability"
and "Actual Work" by month. The graphs looks great, but the data is not
accurate for the availability, because some inactive resources are
considering their availability after they were inactive, and for new
resources the availability is considering the time before they were in the
company.
Is there any way to control this?

You have to do two things:

Issue1:
some inactive resources are considering their availability after they were
inactive

Resolution:
Add a field called 'Resource Status' in filter area in Portfolio Analyzer
graph. Then uncheck 'Enterprise Inactive' resoruces in that filter.

Issue2:
for new resources the availability is considering the time before they were
in the
company.

Resolution:
In Project Professional open resoures in Enterprise Resrouce Pool.
Double click a resource
In the general tab under 'Resource Availability', enter the information in
Available From, Available To & Units fields.
