Resource Availability

O

omar

Hi,
I need to create a report for resource availability. I have all the
projects in my company inserted into a Global Master file (.mpp). I am not
able to create a report or dump data into Excel for resource's work. I wanted
to show when a resource is working and on what project in the same report.

I am however aware of the reports: who does what when and also Analyzed
TimeScaleData Report. I am more interested in getting the data in Excel
since I would be able to create charts from it.

Does anyone have input on this? Any other third-party software that can take
care of my needs?

Thanks in advance

Hi Omar,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Have you tried File/Save As.../and in the Type, select an Excel (*.xls)
format. Another possibility is to use the Analyse Timescaled Data in Excel
macro on the Analysis toolbar.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Hi Omar ,

I would recommend creating a separate Resource Pool file and set each of
your projects to share the resources from this pool. The pool file will
then hold all the resource information. You can add a Project column to the
Resource Usage view to see which assignment is form which project.

Also, you might like to have a look at my series on Microsoft Project in the
TechTrax ezine, particularly #17 & 18 on Multiple Projects, at this site:

..(Perhaps you'd care to rate the articles before leaving the site, :)
Thanks.)
