Resource Calendar and roject scheduling

Note: The below icon (which is viewable only on the Task Usage view at the
Task level) indicates that there is a mismatch between the task calendar and
the resource calendar; i.e., the latest changes to the resource calendar
(planned admin time or actual admin time posted after the resource had been
originally assigned to the task) are not being picked up automatically - In
order to bring in the latest changes, we have had to remove the resource from
the task and re-assign the resource. We are using Project 2007 Server and
Pro, Moss2007. Removing resources from a task and reassigning them seems an
unacceptable resoution to this problem. Any ideas on a better resolution?

Why are you using a Task Calendar on this task? Under normal circumstances,
the Project calendar (click Project - Project Information), controls the
initial schedule of each task. When you assign a resource to a task, then
the resource's calendar controls the schedule of the task. You only use a
Task Calendar on a task to totally override the schedule for a specific
situation, such as scheduling a task to occur only on a weekend. When you
use a Task Calendar for a purpose such as this, you should almost always
select the "Scheduling ignores resource calendars" option. It sounds like
you did not select this option, which may be the cause of your problem. But
back to my original question: Why are you using a Task Calendar on this
task? Let us know.

By the way, I cannot see the icon to which you refer. Hope this helps.

Dale,
On this specific task, we are not using task calendar. The task is set at
Standard project calendar, not overriding resource calendar.

OK, now I'm confused. In your original message, you stated "that there is a
mismatch between the task calendar the resource calendar." So, I don't get
what the problem is. Perhaps you need to give us a little more detail and
we will try to help.
