The default permissions in Project Server 2007 allow members of the Project
Managers group to see ALL of the resources in the Enterprise Resource Pool.
If you need to restrict your PMs to see only those resources below them in
the RBS tree, then you will need to do the following:
1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions.
2. Click Server Settings - Manage Groups.
3. Click the Project Managers group to open it for editing.
4. In the Categories section, select the My Projects category to expand the
Permissions grid for that category.
5. In addition to the currently selected options for this category, set
these permissions to Allow as well:
Manage Resource Plan
Assign Resource
View Enterprise Resource Data
6. In the Categories section, select the My Organization category and then
click the Remove button.
7. Click the Save button.
8. Click Server Settings - Manage Categories.
9. Click the My Projects category to open it for editing.
10. Expand the Resources section and then select the following options:
Only the resources indicated
The user is the resource
They are members of a Project Team on a project owned by the User
They are descendants of the User via RBS
11. Click the Save button.
The above steps assume that you have correctly set up the RBS lookup table
to mimic your company's org chart, and then you have specified an RBS value
for every resource in your Enterprise Resource Pool. Hope this helps.
