Resource deleted from Task still receives notifications to update

Has anyone had this issue? - A resource has been taken off a task, but
still receives email update task notifications to the task. The project plan
has been republished but doesn't help. Any ideas?

This can happen when a Project Manager deletes a task before removing the
resource from the assignment, which results in an orphaned assignment record
in the database. This must be manually removed through SQL.

Hi Gary -
The task was never deleted, hte resources was deleted and the task was
assigned to another resource.

We did resolve the issue by deleting the project and re-importing, which we
don't want to do in the future if there is a better way of handling it.

Before you remove a resource from a task, set the remaining work for that
resource assignment to zero and republish the assignment. Then remove the
resource from the task and the X will appear in the timesheet, and no
notifications will be sent because the assignment will be closed out.
