Resource Formula Field in Views

Shafeeq

Hi,
I have created a resource formula field but it is not shown in the list of
fields when editing/creating project views..

I have noticed that other fields without formulas appear...

Is this a limitation in project server or there is a solution to this?

Thanks..

You have not provided enough information. First of all, what version of
Microsoft Project are you using? 2002, 2003, or 2007? Second, did you
create a custom enterprise Resource field? And if so, what field type did
you use? Text, Duration, Number, etc? Third, where are you trying to
create the View? In Project Professional or PWA? If in PWA, what type of
View are you trying to create? Project Center, Resource Center, etc? You
will need to answer these questions before we can help you. Let us know.

I apologize for failing to answer your question in a timely manner. I was
at the Project Conference in Phoenix last week, and simply lost track of
your question. To follow up, I am sad that I can confirm the exact behavior
you are seeing. I created a custom enterprise Resource field of the Cost
type, entered a simple formula, saved the custom field, opened the
Enterprise Resource Pool and checked out all resources, pressed the F9
function key to recalculate the values in the field, then saved and closed
the pool. Then I opened and published each of our organization's enterprise
projects. In spite of this, I CANNOT see the this custom field as in a
Project view using the Resource table. This I might have expected, but I
CANNOT see the custom enterprise Resource field in a Resource Center view as
well. So, whether this is a design oversight or a bug, I can confirm the
EXACT behavior you see. At this point, I do not know of any type of
workaround. Sorry I cannot be of more help.
