Hello,
We recently had Project server 2003 installed and are using Project Pro 2003.
Our goals are:
1. Have a standard Project template that project managers will base their
new projects on.
2. Allow project managers to select resources from different groups, such
as those in marketing, production, etc.
3. See resource availability across projects. For example, I may have one
long project; marketing may be responsible for the first part; production for
the 2nd; etc. Should I have on large project, should I have smaller project
that are linked together? What is the best approach.
When I try to do step 1 above - open the Enterprise global, I can make
changes to the calendar, etc., but when I try to save, I get the error
message "The resource global is already checked out to another user." You
may retry accessing the entreprise resource pool or cancel the operation.
etc."
I am the only person using this, so am wondering how this is possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm very familiar with Project Pro,
but just getting my feet wet (obviously!) with Project Server, so thank you
in advance for your patience.
