Hi All
I am trying to setup MS project server 2003 and MS Project 2003.
so i am trying to edit enterprise resource pool by doing following
tools\entrprise options\open enterprise resource pool

resource pool opens with default name "checked-out Enterprise
Resource"

now i go and add a new resource to it.

after making changes i try to save it back to the server by doing
following.

File\Close

it comes up with a error meassge ...

"The resource global is already checked out to another user

you may retry accessing the enterprise resource pool or cancel the
operation.
If it remains checked out for a long period of time
due to an error ,ask server administrator to check in for you,Do you
want to retry now?
"

i am the only user who is connected to this server (we trying to setup
it as of now).
i am also a administrator on the machine.i am using a account which
has administrative privilages in
Project Server also.

where do i reset this entrprise resource file to "Not Checked out by
any one"?
thanks

Hi Sidd,

There are a few reasons for why this could happen. What you need to do is
go to PWA and then "Admin" tab. Click on "Manage Enterprise Features" and
look at the sub-menus of "Check-in Enterprise Projects" and "Check-in
Enterprise Resources". Follow the steps on the screen and you should be
back up-and-running!

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the reply.
i tried what you wrote but that did not fix the problem.
i think the problem is something different here..

1)first of all it happens consistently even after i do what you
mentioned
in your reply "admin tab-->check in enterprise projects"

2)it happens only for certain things for example
i can check out a enterprise global template ....
and succesfully add a new item to toolBar going to "view--->Toolbar"
i can close it back .it works without fine.

3)but if i check out a enterprise global template and try to "enforce
a single currency" by doing following.....
"Tools-->options--->view tab...and then type $"

it fails..

i have seen other people having the same problem unfortunately none of
the
threads have nay solution to the problem.
thanks
siddharth
