It is possible to group by whatever criteria (fields) you wish. There may be
a resource field which is common to the same group of people, for example
group or department and you can then group by this option in the
Project>Group>Group by dialogue box.
You can then apply this grouping to a view, by the sound of it the Resource
Usage view or Resource Sheet views might be best, experiment and see which
works.
One thing you CANNOT do is assign all 3 of your developers using a Generic
resource which represents their group/team - the Team Resource feature
allows you to assign work to a team where you know there is work to be done
by the team but don't know or care exactly who will be responsible for doing
the work - the team resources can then "Self Assign Team Tasks" provided
that your Generic Team resource is the "Team Assignment Pool".
