Resource groups-again!

I

illinge

I apologise if this is too basic a question but I'm struggling to fin
the answer.

I have developers, testers, users on my plan and I want to put all th
developers in a group so that I can view only them in a Gantt chart.

i.e. I want Mary, Jane, Peter, Paul in a group called 'Developer'

1. How do I put them into a group?
2. How can I then view/track only the 'Developer' group in Gantt o
Resource Usage? i.e. I dont want to see the testers as well in thi
instance

Re 1: You don't have to create a group or anything. All you need to do
is "tag" each resource to be in a named group via the Resource Sheet
(Menu: View/Resource Sheet)

Re 2: Lots of ways to do this ... the easiest to get your started is for
you to show the Gantt Chart on the view, and the use a filter (Menu:
Project/Filtered for) and use the pre-built "Resource Group" filter.
This filtering can also be used in the Resource Usage view.

Testers won't be in the view as long as you haven not included testers
in the group called "Developer".
