Resource Groups

I are a teacher, and a real good one at that. I am trying
to build a strategic plan for our school. On some tasks,
I would like to assign individual faculty members. On
other tasks, I would like to assign a task to a group
called "staff", and still have it subtract from the
available resource time of the individual staff members.
Is there a way to do this?

Nope, sorry. Project allows you to have resources who are individuals and
resources who are aggregates. We might have a teacher, Joe, who is one
person with a maximum availability of 100%. And we might have a resource
that is an aggregate of 5 undifferentiated custodians called "custodians"
with a maximum availability of 500%. But what we can't do is have an
individual teacher resource Joe and also an aggregate group "teachers" of
which Joe is one member. That's not to say that you can't have all the
staff listed as individuals and assign them all together to a task, it's
just you'll have to assign them as a collection of individuals rather than
as a group resource.\
