Resource has declined your meeting because it is recurring

When a user tries to book a resource, the message “ Resource name has
declined your meeting because it is recurring. You must book each meeting
separately with this resourceâ€. Actually the user is not booking recurring
meetings. He is only booking one meeting. I went through the Microsoft
Article ID 817420 and found that Office XP service pack2 is to be loaded. But
our environment is Office 2000. and we have loaded Outlook 2003 for emails.
Our exchange server is 2003.

Change some resource scheduling parameter for the resource from
Outlook. For instance, uncheck "Decline conflicting meeting requests".
This generates fresh free/busy info for the resource. You can then go
back and check it again - the free/busy info will get refreshed yet
again.

This should solve the issue!

Actually, the problem probably stems from the OP having the outlookaddinsetup program from Dell on the computer. This file causes since appointments to become recurring. If the OP removes that program (control panel->add/remove programs), the problem goes away.

Hi, I am using a Dell machine as well, but I don't see anything called
Outlookaddinsetup in add/remove program, what add-in is that?

It should be under Cyberlink.
