Resource Leveling and Keeping Tasks Together

I have two tasks (Task 1 and Task 2) on a project plan that I would like to
keep to gether that are assigned different resources (Res 1 and Res 2). When
leveling the plan Res 1 has availability much earlier than Res 2 and
therefore a significant time gap is created in the two tasks. Is there
anyway (other than manually) of keeping the tasks together when the leveling
is done?

Thanks,

Hi,

IMHO, several replies are possible:
First, why would you? The Start date Project shows is b all means only the
earliest start date, so simply don't make the guy start. And why wouldn't he
start? You like to keep the tasks together but is there a compelling reason
(like transportation?)
Second, One might create a FS link from task 2 to task 1 with a negative lag
equal to the duration of both tasks but I never tried this and I do not know
how leveling reacts to such negative lag constructions.

I want this option because I don't want the first task to start 6 months
ahead of the second task. For example, if I have Task 1 is Create Functional
Specification and Task 2 is Create Technical Specification I would not want
the functional specification to be completed and then 6 months later (due to
resource constraints) start the technical specification.
