Resource leveling with tasks in the future completed

I am having trouble showing "future progress", meaning tasks that are
completed that are scheduled in the future. Also, when I re-level, MS
Project will not remove these completed tasks from the resource's future
workplan.

For example:
Assume all of the tasks below are assigned to the same resource.
Task 1: July 1 - July 7
Task 2: July 8 - July 15
Task 3: July 16 - July 23
Task 4: July 24 - July 31

If today if June 23rd and Task 3 gets reported as complete to me. I mark it
as complete and re-level. MS Project will not move Task 4 to July 16 since
Task 3 is now complete. Am I missing an option in a submenu somewhere? Why
would MS Project not reschedule over a completed task's time?

Hi,

You tell MS project the resource has actually worked July 16-23 so it would
be nonsensical to schedule more work on these dates!
If the work is done 100% but on an other date then tell Project the actual
Start and finish dates.
