Resource Names - Changing Best Practice

When someone leaves our company, what is the best way to handle changing the
resource name? Is it possible to globally somehow change a resource on all
projects? Or does each PM have to do it separately?

The best way is:
Each PM removes all remaining work for all assignments for teh resource that
has left and/or re-assign to someone else. this means you can still se all
the work done by this Resource.
Once work is re-assigned, save and publish.

Is there a way to do a search and replace as the resource has over 100 tasks
assigned to her.

Thanks

Hi,

You can replace a resource by an other on a whole project.
To do so, go in the 'build team' menu (ctrl + T). Select in the Enterprise
Resource the name of the resource who will do the work and in the Project
team resource, the name of the leaving resource and click replace.

The new resource will be allocated on the same task and at the same number
of units in the whole project.

Hope that helps.

In the build team menu (ctrl+T) choose in the left panel (Enterprise
resource) the name of the resource that will do the work and in the right
panel (Project Team resource) the name of the resource leaving and select
replace.

New resource will be allocated instead of the previous one on all the task
of the project (even those completed).

Hope that helps.

We have followed these instructions, and at first glance, it worked fine
....HOWEVER, when I open either of my plans now , I get the message that I
have inactive resources with remaining work.

If this is just a box I click on when opening these plans, so be it! I’m
totally fine with that. If it is something that is going to cause further
problems, please let me know if there’s something else I should do.

Please advise.

Thanks
